Bonsai Specials for Chiang Mai

Some of the more offbeat and unique things in Chiang Mai that we curated based on our client’s interests:

Monks Trail to Wat Pha Lat and Doi Suthep temples: These two temples are famous, but rarely anyone takes the hiking trail to reach them. This is the trail that monks use to commute to the two temples. The trail is marked by orange monk robes tied to trees, leading hikers through a lush forest and up a gentle incline to Wat Pha Lat, a tranquil temple nestled amid the jungle with stunning views of Chiang Mai, and then a steep climb to Doi Suthep.

Hikes in Doi Inthanon National Park:
Doi Inthanon National Park, home to Thailand’s highest peak, offers an array of stunning hiking trails that cater to various levels of hikers. The Ang Ka Nature Trail is a short, easy walk through a unique cloud forest, rich with mosses, ferns, and orchids. For a more challenging experience, the Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail provides breathtaking views of lush valleys, cascading waterfalls, and the scenic Mae Pan Waterfall.

Sunday Market in Old City: Every Sunday evening, Ratchadamnoen Road, starting from Tha Phae Gate and extending through the heart of the Old Town is closed to vehicular traffic and transformed into a walking market, featuring a wide array of local handicrafts, artwork, clothing, and souvenirs, alongside a plethora of street food stalls offering delicious Northern Thai delicacies. Live music and traditional performances also add to the lively atmosphere.

The popular things to do in Krabi include:

  • Ao Nang
  • Railay Beach
  • Island Hopping

Bonsai Specials for Krabi

Monkey’s Trail from Ao Nang Beach to Pai Long Beach: Ao Nang Beach is super crowded with people from all over Krabi, but if you walk to the end of this beach, you will find a small trail. This trail, named for the playful monkeys that can often be spotted along the way, winds through a lush jungle and over a wooden walkway, providing stunning views of the Andaman Sea. The path is relatively easy and accessible, making it suitable for most fitness levels. Upon reaching Pai Plong Beach, hikers are greeted by a serene, secluded cove with soft sands and clear waters.

Dragon’s Crest Hike:
A challenging half-day hike that takes adventurers through dense forests, past cascading waterfalls, and up steep inclines, leading to the spectacular summit. The peak offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Andaman Sea, lush jungles, and dramatic limestone cliffs. Since this hike is not known to many, you will have the trail for yourself. It’s very well-maintained and you can do it without any guide.

Kayaking in Railay Beach: There is no better way to enjoy the waters of Krabi than renting a kayak in paddling aimlessly. The crystal-clear waters, the limestone caves, the greenery, and the random stops at secluded spots make this an adventure paradise. You can carry your snorkelling gear with you to take a peak underwater as well.

Hike from Railay Beach to Tonsai Beach: The popular way to get to the little-known Tonsai Beach is by boat. But there is also a hidden trail that connects the two. It’s rugged and steep in parts, but not too long. Tonsai Beach is famous among rock-climbing enthusiasts and you can see them scaling the rocks whenever you visit even in the afternoon heat or during the night.

Phuket – The Jewel of the Andaman Sea

4 days & 3 nights

Phuket is Thailand’s largest island, famed for its lively nightlife, luxurious resorts, and stunning beaches.

The popular things to do in Phuket include:

Bonsai Specials for Phuket and Phi Phi

Snorkelling at Yanui Beach: Krabi and Phuket are both famous for snorkelling and you will find numerous spots thrown around the internet. Yanui is one you won’t see much of, but it’s the best place to snorkel in our opinion. The calm, shallow waters make it ideal for snorkelling, with a variety of colourful fish, coral reefs, and occasional sightings of sea turtles. It’s in the south of Phuket where not a lot of tourists visit. You can show up at the beach, rent a kayak and snorkelling gear and paddle to nearby spots for some of the best underwater views.

Kayaking in Phi Phi:
Many take a boat tour to see the various islands of Phi Phi, but kayaking (or stand-up paddle boarding if you want more challenge) in Phi Phi is an incredible way to explore the stunning natural beauty of this famous archipelago. Paddle through crystal-clear turquoise waters, discovering hidden lagoons, limestone cliffs, and vibrant coral reefs. You can also access secluded beaches and caves that are not reachable by larger boats.

Hike to Phi Phi Viewpoint: The hike to Phi Phi Viewpoint is a popular and rewarding trek that offers panoramic views of the Phi Phi Islands. The ascent takes about 20-30 minutes, leading to the first viewpoint, which provides breathtaking vistas of the twin bays of Ao Ton Sai and Ao Lo Dalam. For an even more spectacular view, continue to the higher viewpoints.

Bangkok – The Pulsating Metropolis of Thailand

4 days & 3 nights

Bangkok, Thailand’s bustling capital, is a dynamic city that seamlessly blends tradition and modernity. From glittering temples and grand palaces to bustling street markets and high-end shopping, Bangkok offers an endless array of experiences.

The popular things to do in Bangkok include:

  • Grand Palace
  • Chao Phraya River Cruise
  • Shopping in Pratunam Night Market, Platinum Shopping Mall, Siam Paragon or MBK Center
  • Day trip to Ayutthaya

Bonsai Specials for Bangkok

Morning run in Lumpini Park: Given the adventurous nature of our travellers, there was no better way to start the day in Bangkok than a jog in the beautiful and large Lumpini Park. It’s famous among the local walkers and joggers, but those who visit usually don’t hear about it.

Shopping in Siam Outlet Mall: One in the group wanted to shop for high-end goods and there is no better place in Thailand than the Siam Outlet Mall where you can pick up fashion items from luxury brands at heavily discounted prices. It’s an hour away from Bangkok so many don’t hear about it and instead stick to the expensive outlets of the same brands in the shopping malls of the city.
